The Black Bull - Oakham

Absolutely loved the breakfast-each morning was a treat with something different! The ambiance of the village pub added extra charm to our stay, and that homemade ginger pudding? Just wow! Such a culinary delight!

There is a great selection of superb food for breakfast. The units are good value for money, big size.

It was a super base for a wedding ceremony. The location was comfortable and handy for exploring this lovely quiet area, right by the church, friendly pub in lovely village with fab breakfast and dinner, and Yorkshire.

Can’t fault anything about it.

The quality of food was commendable, with dining options that catered to various preferences, including a tasty vegan chili. The room could benefit from some refurbishment, as it felt a bit dated and lacked adequate warmth on the first night.

It had marvellous location short walk to friendly pub in lovely village as well as a well-stocked shop literally around the corner.

I would consider staying here again, the place met needs. Everything is lovely, thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The units are big, new-fashioned with the bed to be, different carpeting, as for instance. They have plenty of meals to choose from, the food is exceptional.

The atmosphere is good, and steaks cooked to perfection impressed. The waiting time for changes to the order was excessive.

Super-crisp, piping hot chips paired with a lovely range of steak, fish, and vegetarian meals. Cozy environment with thatched roof, log fires, and beamed ceilings added a genuine charm.

Some small issues with the room, like the kitchen vent outside the window that's best kept shut. No dressing table setup in the room made it inconvenient to dry hair near a mirror, though improvisation worked. Daily breakfast selections felt repetitive since they assumed preferences.

The bar area is good, filled with locals that create a lovely atmosphere. The food quality, especially the three-course meals, was really good. Everything was expertly prepared!

The staff were friendly and even provided a gluten-free breakfast option effortlessly.

Couldn't recommend more for a transient stop

Cozy room, pleasant atmosphere, with a lovely host who greeted me warmly and made my stay even better, along with their convenient location close to East Midlands Airport , made exploring the city effortless.

Everything exceeded my hopes.

The food was hearty and delicious, with many options for different tastes. We also enjoyed the local atmosphere and friendly service. Don't miss out on the ice cream cones for dessert! The area is perfect for fishing adventures and birdwatching. Highly recommend visiting the local attractions and trying their drinks at the bar. You won't regret it!

We were all too full for dessert, a little disappointing since the homemade puddings looked amazing. Next time, we'll save room!

We had a good stay with a lovely meal featuring that amazing homemade ginger pudding that was the highlight of our evening. The room was immaculate, and breakfast was superb with perfectly poached eggs! Just a little disappointed by some initial service hiccups.
